也yěalso; too; as well; (not ...) either
也 (yě) means "also" or "too." Place it after the subject and before the verb or adjective; it cannot end a sentence by itself. For "me too," say 我也是 or repeat the verb. In negative sentences it still means "also," often translated as "either."

Grammar patterns
- 1
Subj. + 也 + Verb / [Verb Phrase]
Put 也 after the subject and before the verb. It never ends the sentence alone.
- 2
Subj. + 也 (+ Adv.) + Adj.
Before an adjective, 也 comes before the usual adverb such as 很.
- 3
我也是。
To say "me too," use 我也是 or repeat the verb; do not say 我也 by itself.
也 sits after the subject; English "too" often comes at the end, but that word order is not good Chinese.
Patterns
也 + Verb
我也想去。
Wǒ yě xiǎng qù.
I also want to go.
也不 + Verb
他也不忙。
Tā yě bù máng.
He isn't busy either.
