值得 can come before a verb to say an action merits doing, and it can also mean that something is worth the money.

1. HSK 4

   这本书值得看。

   Zhè běn shū zhídé kàn.

   This book is worth reading.

2. HSK 4

   这部电影值得看吗？

   Zhè bù diànyǐng zhídé kàn ma?

   Is this movie worth watching?

3. HSK 4

   这件衣服值得这个钱。

   Zhè jiàn yīfu zhídé zhège qián.

   This piece of clothing is worth this money.

4. HSK 4

   他值得我们帮助。

   Tā zhídé wǒmen bāngzhù.

   He deserves our help.

值 takes a price or an amount, as in 这本书值十块钱. 值得 takes an action that merits doing. In 这本书值得看, only 值得 fits before 看.
